Those One Liners (TOL) came to be at the end of 2020 when the world was going through a change. That year showed how connected we are to our planet and its conditions.
It also brought forward the idea of drawing line-art to tell the stories of life, and finding out which one appeals to each one of us. You can read about each design and join in by picking what represents you.
We'd also like to have short and long term impact through lines & stories. We work with partners that help us achieve these goals transparently.
In the short term, we would like to contribute by sharing a part of the earnings with organisations working on causes we support.
On long-term, we'd like to support reforestation by funding the planting of trees transparently, through certified projects.
Planting trees is good, but it takes a long time to start showing an effect.
While we wait for the trees to grow, we donate a part of the earnings to The Shopify Sustainability Fund.
This financing is used to support technologies that aim to reverse climate change by permanently removing carbon from the atmosphere.
TOL funds planting of trees with items you purchase, and uses environmentally friendly materials that are better for you as well.
Planting trees is a reforestation effort and helps to eventually reduce our carbon footprint.
However, this outcome does not happen on day one. Each tree takes years and sometimes decades to grow until it can help to reduce the carbon footprint.
In a shorter time scale, reforestation supports local economies and creates jobs for people.
Ecologi helps us to plant the trees through certified Eden Reforestation Projects. In their words, “Eden’s global restoration network is creating livelihoods for millions of people living in extreme poverty by empowering them to restore and protect forests on a massive scale.” They've planted over a million trees already, and we’re happy to have played a part in that.
