Those One Liners
______
Ladies and Gents, meet the “the Jaws of 1850ies: Moby-Dick”. Herman Melville tells the tale of a ship captain’s quest for revenge on a whale that bit off his leg in his book “Moby-Dick; or, The Whale”. Fast forward to 1975, and we have a shark in Jaws to replace the whale.
When Melville wrote his book, people used to hunt whales for... wait for it... oil. The oil was initially used to make candles, light lamps, and make soap. Eventually, its use evolved to oiling machinery. And then, gladly, we almost learnt to leave the whales in peace.
This whale species is called the sperm whale, and it can grow as large as 20 meters (that’s about 4-5 cars put one after another) and dive to 2km (imagine 6-7 Eiffel Towers on top of each other).
This lovely line-art is printed on a beautiful and strong tote bag made of recycled cotton and polyester. It has all you need from an environmentally friendly companion. The woven canvas is made without pesticides, herbicides, or other chemical fertilizers. The Fair Wear certification ensures that we support fair labour practices and ethical production. The ink is eco-friendly and the bag has a Global Recycled Standard certificate.
Each purchase will fund the planting of a tree. Additionally, a part of earnings are donated to offset carbon emissions.
The trees are planted by Ecologi in certified projects, so, we know that we contribute responsibly and transparently.
The carbon offset donations support promising climate initiatives through the Shopify Planet Program.
Great, simple but very eye catching design and good quality cotton. I also like that the bag has a boxed bottom, which allows for some extra volume inside. Quick and no hassle delivery. Super happy with it!
